People to People was definitely an enlightening experience for me, and if you or someone you know has a chance to participate in this fantastic program, I urge you to do so. Back in September of 1994, I was invited to an informational meeting about People To People.  The program was going to go to Australia and New Zealand over the summer. Dates were unknown at that time. What was known, was the fact that the trip would require a lot of effort and hard work to accomplish.

It all starts with a personal interview to take place with your group leaders.  After passing that interview, many months of training follow. You learn more about your country-to-be-visited's languages, customs, traditions, foods, sports, and many other aspects.

We departed on June 6, 1995 , and we stayed in Australia and New Zealand a total of 21 days. The trip was probably one of the most educational experiences I had ever been on, and the fact that I learned most of the money to travel made the trip
just that much more worthwhile.
